House emptied after hoax ad

so apparently someone placed a fake ad on craigslist saying to come by a certain address in seattle and take whatever they found. this line from the article is what set me off:

Neighbours said they had seen people removing items in the middle of the day but did not suspect anything was wrong.

let me see if i’ve got this straight. people are coming in and out of your neighbor’s house taking all kinds of stuff with them. people who are obviously NOT your neighbor who used to live there. and nothing seems out of the ordinary to you? apparently random people were always carrying off things from that house next door? i just don’t understand how “nothing seems out of the ordinary” in this situation. i guess i’ll never understand people from seattle….

and then i came across this article while i was reading the previous one. i realize that bush & cheney are holding on to whatever they can to continue to justify the iraq invasion, but i’ve come to realize that reality isn’t one of those things that either man puts much faith in. even though the overwhelming body of evidence from non-partisan investigators and investigations has proven that there was never a link between saddam and al qaeda this is obviously one of the last straws cheney has to grasp onto while his boat is sinking all around him. it’s also obvious that cheney and bush have been lying to the american people, but guess what? nancy pelosi already promised that democrats won’t try to impeach bush/cheney. is that the equivalent of a congressional pardon, if such things existed? certainly seems so from where i’m sitting. i guess lying about pre-war intelligence to drag the country kicking and screaming into the iraq war is a less impeachable offense than lying about getting a blow job in the oval office. apparently for the democrat controlled congress, it’s a *non* impeachable offense….

haven’t been in the mood to write much lately, not even emails. just the usual boring life stuff happening. too much debt, not enough money. rinse. repeat.

speaking of money, does this piss off ANYONE besides me? forget for a moment that the democrats are going to go down in flames if hillary clinton wins the nomination. the fact that every. single. year. we have yet another fundraising record for campaigns broken in the presidential race doesn’t set off big alarms? why the hell do you need to have $26 million an entire year before the campaign season actually starts? does it ever seem to you that the presidency is up for sale to the highest bidder? it makes me think that in a couple of years we’ll be seeing candidates introduced like they do in sportscasting: “new democrat(tm) candidate, brought to you by nestle(tm), microsoft(tm), and the afl-cio - ‘the folks who brought you the weekend’” “republican sponsored by citigroup(tm), exxon-mobil(tm), and at&t(tm). ‘at&t - we know where you live and who you talk to’”

this is a lot of the reason why i choose to support third parties like the green party, even though i’ve never really ascribed to any particular political agenda. politics and money should be kept separate, or at least have a restraining order put against themselves. everyone should have the right to run a candidacy for president. it shouldn’t be only for people who are rich and have even richer friends. there’s a lot of good that $26 million can do if only it were spent on the right things. and funding political candidates is never the right thing to spend it on….
